Eva Ruth Dugue’ Davidson

Eva Ruth Dugue’ Davidson was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on March 8, 1924 from the union of Paul L. Dugue’ and Clemence Jones.  She was united in holy matrimony to the late David L. Davidson, Jr. for 59 years.  Eva departed this life in Seattle, Washington on May 28, 2013.

Eva, affectionately called “Grams” by her family attended Corpus Christi Elementary and St. Mary’s Academy in New Orleans, Louisiana.  She attended and completed courses at Strait Business School also in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Eva was a homemaker, exceptional spouse, devoted mother to her children and loving grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in New Orleans, Louisiana and Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Catholic Church in Seattle, Washington.  Eva was a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies of Grace Chapter 38, “Our Mother of Africa” and the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary Court 218, “Our Lady Seat of Wisdom” in Seattle, Washington.

Eva was the mother of Reginald J. Davidson (Lathenia), Rhonda A. Wilkerson (Perry) and Gaynell T. Walker; Grandmother of Christina N. Spencer, Cerissa L. Douglas (Bryan), Gaynell E. Walker, Erin M. Hocevar (Luka), Kellen A. Walker, Eva A. Walker, Cedric D. Walker, Christopher L. Davidson and Ashley N. Davidson.  She was the Great-Grandmother of Aryn R. Spencer.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Davidson, Jr., her parents Paul and Clemence Dugue’, her fourteen siblings and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Flora Tate-Davidson, United States Air Force.  She is survived by her three children, Reginald J. Davidson, Rhonda A. Wilkerson and Gaynell T. Walker, 9 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, relatives, friends and extended family.

A viewing will be on Friday, June 7th from 2:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. followed by a rosary from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Bonnie Watson Funeral Home located at 1732 Broadway, Seattle, Washington 98122.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 8th at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception located at 820 18th Ave., Seattle, Washington 98122.  Interment will be Monday, June 10th at 10:15 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery located at 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, Washington 98042.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of Eva R. Dugue’ Davidson to Overlake Medical Center Foundation, 1035 116th Ave. NE, Bellevue, Washington 98004.
